Houghton Lodge
This 18th Century cottage orne, or rural retreat was built prior to 1799 and is a rare, early example of an architectural style that evolved when fashion turned from the Classical to the Romantic. The owners had created a unique topiary dragon 4 feet high and 15 feet long which delighted the crowd with its smoking nostrils.
West Green House
A small manor built in the 1740’s and hidden in a quiet corner of Hampshire. The owner has spent many years transforming this National Trust property with gardens that included, a green theatre, parterres, nymphaeum, lake field, Alice in Wonderland garden and a snowdrop lawn.
Langley Boxwood Nursery
A trip to this nursery, specialising in topiary was a complete delight. Features included a collection of specimen plants and a vast array of topiary shapes
Highfield Farm and Nursery
Holly was the speciality here, with over 100 cultivars grown in various shapes and sizes for all uses. Tea and cakes were provided as welcome refreshment
